There is nothing worse than going on a trip that you are really excited about, only to have it ruined because you end up staying at an awful hotel. Although a great hotel can make your trip even more enjoyable than you expected, a bad hotel can make your trip worse than you ever thought possible.

To help you avoid having your trip to San Antonio ruined by a bad hotel, here are some recommendations for great places to stay while you are there (regardless of whether you are by yourself or with your family):

Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk: As you will see if you stay here, this is a very nice hotel. However, what’s even better is the fact that this hotel only costs an average of $155 a night. While they are nice enough to easily charge over $250 a night, it’s nice that they offer a reasonable rate and don’t let their standards of quality slide because of it.

Staybridge Suites San Antonio Airport: Like the first hotel on our list, this is another very nice place that offers their rooms for around $155 a night. The nice thing about this hotel is that because it is located close to the airport, it can be a very convenient place to stay (especially if you are only in San Antonio for a day or two, or someone is flying in to meet you after you already get to San Antonio).

Riverwalk Vista: If you prefer to stay somewhere that has a dose of local flavor, the Riverwalk Vista is an alternative to large hotel chains. At a cost of about $153 for each night you stay here, this is another one of the great but very reasonably priced hotels that San Antonio has to offer.
