If you take a minute and think about the top ten destinations for family vacations in the United States, there is a good chance that one of the places that will come to your mind is San Antonio. There’s an endless list of reasons why San Antonio is one of the most popular places in the United States for families to take a vacation together. If you have never had a chance to take your family to San Antonio, I can attest to the fact that it is truly a great place for a family vacation.

I have four children (plus my wife), and when we took a five day trip to San Antonio, we all ended up having a great time. I was glad that everyone had such a great trip, because when my wife and I originally told our kids that we were all going to go to San Antonio together, our two oldest kids said that it sounded like a really lame trip. However, they are going through the teenage stage where they like to challenge everything we say, and just as I had hoped, once we got to San Antonio and they let their guard down, they ended up having just as much fun as the rest of us.

Anytime I plan a trip to San Antonio, the first thing I do is get online and find out what flights are available. Once I track down a great deal on a flight and get it booked, the next step in my travel preparation process is to find a hotel room for the duration of my trip. This is usually quite simple to do (unless I’m going to San Antonio during a popular event when lots of other people are also traveling there), and I can get the hotel room reserved directly from my computer.

After I have confirmed my flight and hotel room arrangements, the last thing I do online in preparation for my trip is to reserve a rental car. I know some people who wait until they arrive in San Antonio to get a rental car, but this makes absolutely no sense to me. You already know ahead of time that you are going to need a rental car in San Antonio, so why would you waste time and money during your trip by waiting until you arrive to get a rental car?

If you have a family, San Antonio is a great place to take your whole family on a trip together. Unlike a lot of family destinations (which only offer entertainment for children and not adults), not only will your children have a great time visiting San Antonio, but so will you. San Antonio is full of fun activities and destinations that your whole family will enjoy.

Although this may sound like an advertisement for San Antonio tourism, I’m simply a guy with a family who recently went to San Antonio and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed myself. I found a great flight and hotel package online, which let us stay in San Antonio for five full days at a very low rate. In addition to making my flight and hotel arrangements online, I also used the Internet to secure a car hire for our time in San Antonio.

Because we had a car hire while we were in San Antonio, we were able to pack everyday to the fullest. Some highlights of our trip included the Alamo, Market Square and the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum.
